About Vacuum Erection Devices (VEDs) — What You Ordered and How It Works
A vacuum erection device — also called a VED, vacuum constriction device (VCD), or ED pump — is a non-invasive medical device used to treat erectile dysfunction by creating negative pressure around the penis, drawing blood into the penile erectile chambers and producing a firm erection. A tension ring placed at the base of the penis maintains the erection for up to 30 minutes after the device is removed. Getting Started with Your New Device

- 30-minute maximum ring wear — remove the tension ring at the 30-minute mark regardless of whether the erection has subsided; this applies to all tension rings for all devices
- Practice makes technique — most men find their first few sessions take longer or produce different results than subsequent sessions; technique improves quickly with regular use; give yourself 3–5 sessions before evaluating the device's effectiveness for your anatomy
